McNair Scholar Misty Branch Coauthors Article

Misty Branch, a Rutgers–New Brunswick McNair Scholar and Ph.D. student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, coauthored an article, “Racial discrimination, racism-specific support, and self-reported health among African American couples” for the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.

Branch's research interest is in the socialization techniques of African American parents and its implications on the mental health of their children. The article is coauthored with her faculty advisor Shardé McNeil Smith and doctoral student Lillie D. Williamson.
