Marc Handelman

Marc Handelman currently serves as Department Chair of Art & Design at Mason Gross School of the Arts, and is Secretary of the Schools EDI Committee. He is also the founder and coordinator of the Art & Design Mentorship Program. Handelman is a visual artist whose paintings explore the afterlives of the genre of landscape in contemporary political life. His work explores the entanglement of an aesthetics of nature in the conditioning of forms of knowledge and belief in the legitimization of colonial and environmental violence.
