Debra Palmer Keenan’s research and teaching is in the area of Community Nutrition. More specifically, her research focuses on food and physical activity issues faced by urban, limited-resource adults and teens, as well as the assessment of said issues, including food insecurity and barriers to physical activity. Additionally, she is the State Coordinator for the federal Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), which serves limited-resource New Jersey residents in Camden, Essex, Hudson and Passaic Counties.
