Dan Rice is the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Within GSAPP he works with faculty, staff, and students to incorporate DEI principles in every aspect of the school. In his recent work, Dan has written professional development modules on cultural responsiveness and micro-aggressions for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – Division of Adolescent School Health; facilitated racial and reproductive justice learning communities, and served on the GSAPP diversity committee for Priority II: Promote Inclusive Teaching and Training, serving as the lead for the Professional Development team. Prior to joining the Dean’s office at GSAPP, Dan worked in the field of sex education for twenty years and served as the Executive Director of Answer - GSAPP’s national center for sex education - for the past three years. He has served on committees to write the National Sex Education Standards, Second Edition; The National Teacher Preparation Standards for Sex Education, Second Edition; the Professional Learning Standards for Sex Education; the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards for Comprehensive Health and Physical Education (2020) and is the author of The Essential Sex Education Book for Parents: Guided Conversations to Have with Your Tweens and Teens.
