Bernadette Gailliard

Bernadette Gailliard is the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the School of Communication & Information. In this role, she is responsible for implementing the school’s Diversity Strategic Plan and works with faculty, staff, and students to incorporate DEI principles into the research, teaching, and work done across the school. Bernadette is also a scholar and research consultant whose work examines the experiences of underrepresented groups within organizations. Her research explores the intersections of race, gender, and power as they relate to identity and membership negotiation. As a consultant, she has worked with organizations to develop and deliver professional development programming, evidence-based diversity trainings, and executive and leadership coaching for professionals both inside and outside of the academy. Bernadette’s published research can be found in Management Communication Quarterly, The Annals of the International Communication Association, and Human Relations.
