Virtual Artist Talk: Cara Romero
Cara Romero (Chemehuevi) discusses her photographs Arla Lucia and Starlight, Starbright, and wider photography practice. She had pursued an undergraduate degree in cultural anthropology, but became disillusioned by the way Native Americans are portrayed in academia and media. Realizing that photography could do more in images than anthropology did in words, Romero trained in photojournalism, editorial portraiture and film, and digital, commercial, and fine art photography. One of four talks held in conjunction with the exhibition Indigenous Identities: Here, Now & Always. Visit event page on Zimmerli website for all details, including Zoom registration.
