Brian Kurisky

Dr. Brian-Patrick Kurisky is the Executive Director for the Collaborative Center for Community Engagement. Dr. Kurisky has over 20+ years of higher education experience working with partners both on-campus and in the community. He has experience with high impact practices, starting and scaling up campus engagement offices, and is a Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement consultant and reviewer. In 2020, he led the successful Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement application at his previous institution. Dr. Kurisky champions engagement with local, diverse non-profits that will aid the participating student’s experience and growth.
Prior to working at Rutgers, Dr. Kurisky has worked at Virginia Wesleyan University (Virginia Beach, VA), Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA), and Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI). He has Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, a Masters of Science in Education in College Student Affairs and Leadership from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, and Bachelor Degrees in Intercultural Communications and European Political Science from Old Dominion University.
